The Wiki of Gaia

Everything you need to know about Gaia. Like, ever.

Are You New Around Here?

Hey! If you are new around here, first of all, welcome! My name is Jared, and I have been DMing in my own home-brew world for over 5 years. What you see before you is the official cannon knowledge of my D&D 5e home-brew world called Gaia. I don't use any modules or source books in terms of writing storylines and plots, but I sure do take a heck of a lot of inspiration from them when I design my world and its history!

This site contains the active knowledge across all my settings, campaigns, and players, all of which get revealed in sessions or after arcs. In essence, every page in this wiki is a record of knowledge gained by my players as they play!

If you are interested in playing in one of my campaigns, first checkout the Rules page and the Player Resources to see if this kind of setting is for you. If it is, great! Reach out to me using the links in the Get Involved section of the site. I look forward to hearing from you and having you and your character ideas become a part of Gaian history 🙂.

That's it from me, for now! If you want to learn more about me and my journey, check out the About Me page. Happy clicking!

Special Note

This site is an amalgamation of 5+ years of planning, thinking, and meticulous editing. Things are subject to change quite frequently, especially as this world is played in and not just an invention I have in my head. What has remained constant, though, through the dynamic nature of this world, is my awesome group of players, who, in so many ways, give me ideas and the necessary validation to continue working on this site. This is a passion project, and something I like to do to escape the boringness and tedium of the real world, and it really would not be possible without their help. A huge thank you to them for their unending patience, valuable feedback, and incredible dedication to this world and their characters.

And for any prospective DMs out there, I really encourage you to build your own world: it is the most rewarding experience I have ever embarked on, and while it was (and still is) a ton of work, there really is no better feeling than seeing your players explore, fight, and experience a world that you created.

Special thanks to my brother Dan for giving me great insights and generally just being a great person to bounce ideas off of. I hope you enjoy the writeups of his one shots as much as I did actually playing them. He is truly an inspiration and an outstanding DM, and many of the things in this world were born from his incredible ideas. His creative mind is a wonderful and awe inspiring thing to observe.

For information on their characters, check out the campaign page and the character page.

Also, MAJOR shoutout to Mathew Mercer and Critical Role for being an enormous inspiration to not only this world, but to me as a DM. Without those guys, I would likely not have even gathered enough confidence and courage to DM in the first place.
